Intro

Below are some of the lovely reviews we have received from past guests…

This was my 9th trip to Honduras, and my 8th trip to Villas Pico Bonito. This year we brought our 9 year old grandson. We spent 5 days at Villas Pico Bonito and 4 days on the island of Roatan. Our grandson says “Staying at Villas Pico Bonito was the best part of the trip”. We met several people while on Roatan who had never visited the mainland of Honduras, mostly commenting on violence or safety concerns. I have never felt unsafe visiting the mainland of Honduras and find the people to be kind and friendly. You are missing out on a wonderful vacation if you skip the mainland, and staying here is a great experience. The cabins are clean and well kept with great views. The grounds are beautiful and surrounded by jungle mountains and waterfalls. The staff is great and always willing to help in any way, including meal choice and advice on activities in the area. I have found the La Ceiba area to have nice shops with great prices (in most cases half the cost of the same products on the islands). Also activities near VPB are reasonably priced and easy to get to (hiking, zip-line, rafting, horseback riding, snorkeling day trips, etc.) I highly recommend VPB to anyone looking for a relaxing lodge surrounded by the jungle.

Set in the beautiful Honduran jungle, Villas Pico Bonito offer the perfect relaxing escape with a difference!  Your jungle home away from home.

The view from here is absolutely amazing. Mountains full of vegetation are right in front of you, just like a wild river full of rocks. Toucans are saying hi around 5pm and now and then you see some people rafting by. In the early morning the mountains are still covered in a blanket of mist, which is pretty magical to see.

“You’d be hard pressed to find another place like the Villas Pico Bonito. I was blown away when I got there by the amount of different flowers and the gorgeous view of the mountains and river. You can tell that the owner, Richard, cares about this place when you look at the level of detail in everything. He had brought all the indigenous back to the resort, and while walking through the property it feels like taking a stroll through some royal garden.”

Peaceful, Beautiful, Relaxing

I had been on the property prior to our 3 night stay at Villas Pico Bonito, but I did not realize how much we would enjoy staying there until we did! The location is perfect, the grounds are beautiful and well-cared for, and the staff is great. My husband and I stayed in the Bejuco Lodge and it was perfect. We had a full-on view of the waterfall, for which the accommodation is named, from the large deck on the river side of our lodge. Our bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was large and the kitchen was well-stocked. We prepared most of our own food, but we did eat in the restaurant one evening…the ambiance was lovely and the food was good. The infinite pool is not heated, but was not too cold. In fact, once I got in, it was incredibly refreshing!

So, bottom line, I wish we had stayed here before (our daughter and family live in La Ceiba, so we come to the area somewhat regularly), we will stay here again, and we will stay for more than 3 nights next time!
